My husband and I had a good experience with Bay Rentals with Ron and Heather. We were coming from out of town and had a very short window of a few days to visit rentals and wanted to make the most of it. At first we just tried the list but then went ahead and asked them to schedule viewing appointments with rentals that met our criteria. I am so grateful that we did this.
One of the rentals we saw on the first day was just what we wanted! We went to the other appointments and those just confirmed that we wanted the first one but it was nice to have options. He was very clear on what to expect and communicative. I scheduled a few viewings through my own searches but don't think I would have found the same perfect spot that his team found in such a short timeframe. The service wasn't cheap but it was really worth it in my experience.

I have had the please working with Ron and all of his employees. I have used/referred people to Bay Area Rentals multiple times. They are all about customer service and customer support. I felt at the end of the deal I walked away with a great price on my rental. Can't wait to do more business with these guys! Watch out Craig!

What happened to this company. It used to be good. We have found some of our rentals through them years ago - well that was 15-20 years ago. I signed up and did not get any confirmation email but the money was charged. It has been a month since I signed up and I have got only one email with listing that did not have any choice of my city. Sorry to say but a complete waste of money. Wont recommend it at all.

Total waste of money. here's why: 1. Once I paid the $75 in the initial call, I never heard from them again. Plus, the owner said he would look out for us after having such a horrible time with them messing our log in info. We found our spot on our own using regular apt search online tools. Your money is only good for 2 months and then you need to pay more to receive these bs emails. 2.
The owner makes all the changes and decisions. If he's not in the office, nothing can get done. 3. They send emails about apt updates, but you cannot filter anything. The apt descriptions / results are a joke and outdated. You actually have to call the office to get any changes or updates. Even then, you can only filter by 4 options. 2 of them are city and cost.
We have a dog and we couldn't get that filtered. Making 3 quarters of the results useless. Most results don't even have pics of the place. 4. I've worked w apt finders before and the experience is much better. They actually tried to find our apt. Plus, I paid absolutely nothing! Keep your money and just do a google search! Perhaps this company was too busy searching for other folks to care about us. I NEVER leave reviews but I'll make an exception for this joke of a company!

My husband tried to use this service, but we were never able to find anything. It didn't seem like this company tried to help at all. They just took our money and gave zero effort after that. Their portal for listings is a complete joke. We were able to use a different apartment finder and it was a lot cheaper. We love our new place. Im not sure why someone would give this place anything more than a 1 star review.

Literally saved me and my boyfriend from becoming homeless! With only 7 days to find a place, this team tracked down over 80 potential listings for me to look at. Within 2 days, I had applied and been accepted into an amazing apartment that will be my home for the next year. I cannot thank this team enough for all of their help in ensuring I had a roof over my head.

Please see this company under the Better Business Bureau. http://www.trustlink.org/Reviews/Bay-Rentals-206038782. Complete SCAM. Do not use this service. I used their service for seven days and paid $50. They said they give a refund if I found a place outside of their service. I found another place within seven days and tried to get my refund. They sent me a letter saying that there was a $50 service fee.
Go figure, I paid $50 and their is a $50 service fee. Complete SCAM. Use another service, please don't waist your money. Ron S. (like Howard S. of the radio) is a real SCAM artist.

This review is solely for the credit report service. It's $30 for a credit check; they take many forms of payment - cash, debit & credit card, check. While it is a no-frills / basic report, it does the job. I was able to receive a printout within a matter of minutes. Ron was friendly and helpful. He had a large quantity of pens, which advertised Bay Rentals on it. He encouraged me to take 2. And it has purple ink. PURPLE! I mean, cmon. You don't find a lot of free pens these days with purple ink.

Best $50 I have ever spent. I would recommend this place to ANYONE looking for a rental. I've been spending weeks jumping through loops and wasting so much money on application fees. Ron was my rental super hero. He gave me advice on how to keep up my credit score and how to get letters of recommendation. He is on top of the current rentals available.
I actually go to see two wonderful units before anyone else did. I got to see them literally within two hours of signing up. In one day, that $50 gave me piece of mind and a new place. We are putting in our applications tomorrow and it is all because of Ron's help. He genuinely cares about finding a new place for your family. He calls when he finds something that's a perfect fit.
I really have a hard time believing any of these negative reviews. I would even recommend this place to my entire family. I would put 10 stars if I could. Thank you guys for your help!

Ron at Bay Rentals couldn't have been more helpful. They found some great properties that weren't on the market yet for much less than market rate. Seriously, I got very lucky and couldn't have done it without these guys. Not everyone may get as lucky as me, but it's worth a shot. As for all the complaints from the others, what do you expect for $50? Bay Rentals manually sorted through the sludge of rental listings to bring the best available to me and I love them for it! The reviewers below don't know the value of money.

This company is lucky they are getting even 1 star. I tried this company back in 2011 and they were some what helpful in finding a place. But this summer I am searching for a 2 bedroom apartment and it is damn near impossible with these people. They sent me about 20 listing the first day. I called all and they were either rented out, in the process of being rented out or I get b***hed out by the people I was calling because they don't go through Bay Area Rentals. These people poach other websites for their rental information. My advice: save yourself $50 (its non-refundable) and just use google and craigslist

I am completely happy with this service. It was well worth the $50 sign-up fee. Craigslist has become a nightmare, at least for renters, but the listings we got from Bay Rentals put us in touch with actual property owners - not scammers - from the very first listing. We signed a lease for an affordable rental that nicely suits our needs within the first few days of using their listings. What's more, our new landlord is a delightful human being!

I just slapped down $50 for this service after performing a non-member search and getting over 15 results that looked promising. Once I paid the 50, I got three results that looked like crap! The thing is, they fell into my criteria so I can't get a refund. But what a scam! Offer a test search of what they call a "current database" and then only get a few scant results after paying for what you think will be the results you got in the first place. i even broadened my search criteria and still nothing decent! I wish I had come to Yelp first as well and I should know better. I only just joined and haven't tried to get a refund but come Monday, I will be calling for one!

Wish I had researched this place before paying my $50.00. I'm unable to log in with the ID and pw I was given and they are not picking up calls! I'll be trying each day this week to see if I can get my money back! UPDATE: I stand by my earlier review! Couldn't log in to use the service, Bay Area Rentals didn't help fix the issue or contact me back after i called to complain and Bay Area Rentals didn't process me a refund. I found the Eagle Ridge home which I've been living in for almost 3.5yrs through Craigslist. Beware!

I wish I could give minus stars. The scam business should be investigated the BBB. ITS A JOKE! It's a classic bait and switch scam! They place ideal ads in newspapers and on-line. You call and have to pay for the info and bam! YOU'VE BEEN SCAMMED! It doesn't exist! Please just use Craigslist for free!
