I needed some help finding an apartment in time to have somewhere to move into once my lease ended. Kim did a great job in finding me an apartment within my budget. She even found me an apartment that was not displayed on the apartments official website yet. Thank you so much!

I have worked with Kim at Uptown Locators several times over the years when planning to move and she has always been dedicated to finding me the perfect new home, within my budget, and in the area that I wanted to live in. Working with them has narrowed down my search time looking for and at new apartments from many hours and days down to a one day project.

Go see Brett! She helped my roommates and I find a house to rent and was easy to work with. Brett was fast, efficient and personable. We had been looking for a rental property for over 6 weeks and felt like our lucky day had come when we stumbled upon Brett. It was easy to make an appointment, she drove us to multiple places and even went to look a property without us to see if it was something we would be interested in. Save yourself the hassle of the search and take advantage of this free service!

I was browsing listings online and contacted a place for more information. Yana, the owner of Uptown Locators, wound up emailing me back and set up an appointment. I set up the meeting for the following week on Saturday. I waited for about 30 minutes before calling and emailing Yana with no response. Finally, on Monday she responded and apologized, saying her agent was supposed to meet me at the office.

She offered to help me in my search and a Visa gift card, but I drove up from Austin specifically to make this appointment so I wasn't too thrilled. I felt like it should have been communicated to me that I wasn't meeting Yana directly. She didn't give me a name or anything, so I had no idea who to ask for. No one else at the office had any additional information. Very poor experience overall.

They flood the internet with listings for properties they don't have any connection with so that if you try to use any search engine for property shopping, you can't get a hold of the real property manager. Don't know anything about the properties listed nor the properties listed on their OWN website. When questioned about that, they turn very rude.

They expect you to cater to them rather than the other way around. Should have known better with a company with "Uptown" in the name. Also don't bother with them if your budget is lower than what they want to deal with. It would be easier/better to slog around town on your own than deal with this mess.

Worst company ever! All they care about it their commission and will do anything to get it.including lying! The staff is extremely unprofessional and rude. I felt like I was talking and texting with a teenage girl. They make promises they cannot keep! BEWARE! I wish I did my research before getting into a contract with this company.

I used Uptown Locators to help me find a new place and they were fantastic. I started my hunt a little too early and Yana said that she would get back to me at a later date to get a better feel. When the day came, she got back to me like she said she would, extremely impressed! Later, I was passed on to another agent, Lindsey. She was extremely helpful and did more than just compile a list.

She took me to the places and did the talking for me, in regards to rates, specials, and so on. Thanks to Uptown Locators, I am enjoying my new place and couldn't be any happier!

Worthless company. The agents told us that there was nothing within are parameters in the area. I think they just wanted us to raise our budget so they would get more profit. I felt like I knew more than the agents and I'm not even from Texas. Don't waste your time. Very informal staff communications. The emails sent by them felt like a teenage girl sending text messages in class.

We flew into Dallas for the weekend specifically to find an apartment. Luckily we had an appointment set up with another locator the next morning, The other company was a lot more helpful and actually took the time to drive us around to show us places instead of pointing to places on a map and saying that we should give that area a try.

I agree with the review below. I had the same experience with the "furniture gift card" These people only show you apts that they get a big commission at. They don't show you any normal apts, only high end ones. I would not recommend them.

I went through Uptown Locators for my recent move, and although the apartment I signed a lease with was not on my agent's list I went ahead and put her down as my locator since she said I would receive a $200 giftcard. I signed my lease and moved in on 6/10 and still have not received the $200 giftcard that she said I would be receiving. I called on 7/1 and advised that I had not received the giftcard yet, and she assured me that it would arrive that week. Well, I guess I'm just about to give up because it is now 7/12 and has not arrived.

There are plenty of other services out there that actually do send you giftcards and/or move you for free in exchange for listing them on the lease - wish I did not choose to list this company as mine! I will update my review should it happen to show up. however I am not going to hold my breath.

I recently used Uptown Locators to help find an apartment in the Uptown/Village area. The agent was very helpful in compiling a spreadsheet of apartments in my range, and provided individual complex names and address when I asked for them. As with any locator service, be prepared to be inundated by phone calls, texts, and e-mails until you pick one of their provided locations.

I was told we would receive a "$200 furniture giftcard" if we used them, and after signing a lease, i was again overwhelmed by texts and phone calls from the agent needing our new address so she could mail the gift card. I sent it to her, but 3 weeks later had not received it despite a phone call, e-mail and text to her on my end. I finally went by the office and found out the $200 "gift card" was really a $200 discount for a complete set at an upscale furniture store with minimum purchases in the thousands. Shame on me for not clarifying earlier on?

Bottom Line: Helpful in doing some of the legwork, but overall turned out to be more of a pain that it was worth; the gift card experience left a bad taste in my mouth as well.
