Set up in 1976, The Tim Wood Group has helped over 5000 families sell and buy homes in Big Bear California. We know what it means to supply great service. The current state of the real estate market in Big Bear reminds me of a scene in the movie, The Perfect Storm. Near the end of the movie, after the fishing boat and its crew battle large waves and horrible weather, things clear up.

Tyler and his team are the epitome of professionalism, have consistent superior communication, efficiency and a are pleasure to work with. I have bought and sold homes from Maui to LA over the years and Tyler is a "master" at his craft. I know the difference between a mediocre and an exceptionally good Agent. Tyler is the latter. My luxury home had unique issues affecting an iconic, 100 year old lake property. Tyler's innovative approach made sure the transaction continued moving forward towards fruition in a timely manner. Anyone looking to buy or sell a home should make Tyler your 1st call! A very happy Seller!

Heather is a very persistent, smart, and hard-working Real Estate Professional. Initially when I started my home search in Big Bear I didn't have a realtor so was contacting the listing agents directly. Heather follow up with me on one of the homes I was interested in. At the time I was only dealing with listing agents and let her know my plans. Heather took it in stride and made a witty remark that made her stood out.
As time pass she was persistent in keeping in touch with useful buyer information about the area. It was a sellers market when I was doing my home search, when offers were coming in at $50k-$110k over listing. In this situation, it's better to have your own Buyer's Agent. So I reach out to Heather to become our Buyer's Agent. Heather is smart and hardworking as we were viewing properties to point out the hit and misses about the property.
I like when a realtor isn't always pro on the house as not all houses are worth purchasing. Also, she would point out things that non locals would not know right off the bat. As mentioned, it was a seller's market and Heather was able to successfully navigate our purchase offer to get the home that we wanted! The hard work is dealing with the Buyer's demands as well as the other side: listing agent/sellers.
There were some issues with the inspection and sqft of the home which Heather was able to satisfy both parties. She is a great Realtor and was constantly in contact with us through the whole process. I would use Heather from RE/MAX again and recommend her for your buying (or selling) transactions. =)

First time homeowner and trusting Tyler really threw my year into turmoil. He represented the seller and after closing @ cost, the place flooded exactly 40 days later and cost me an additional 15000.00 that had to be taken care of immediately. InsuI find it hard to believe that this wasn't happening before or during the process of this house being up for sale. He's charismatic and claims to be an ear for both parties to gain knowledge but that's not the case. He's in for a quick sale.
This caused long term damage that i carried thru the year as i had just finished furnishing the place. 15000 additional cost not inc new furniture damage was not in my budget or i I would have gotten a different place. Go somewhere else if he's selling.!

Buyer beware! We recently closed escrow, the listing agent Tyler Wood represented the seller. At the close of escrow we went to open the water line and found a huge leak that needed immediate attention. The neighbor was present and reported to us she had disclosed the leak to the listing agent Mr Wood, he came by prior to close of escrow and shut off the valve he informed her that no repair was required, the water line was shut off and the leak would not have been detected unless the line was open.
Mr Wood did not disclose the finding to the inspector, buyers agent or inquire with the sellers of the finding. Mr Wood is not a licensed plumber this situation needed to be diagnosed by a plumber as it was identified there was a crack in the pipe 4 feet below ground. The neighbor informed us this was a pre-existing situation that had been addressed by the sellers for several years.
The home was a vacation home and the leak was never addressed. Mr Wood felt since the issue was not addressed by the seller full disclosure was not required by himself, we attempted to set us a meeting to discuss the situation Mr Wood refused to be present. Our home warranty insurance was contacted and they said this would not be covered as it was a pre existing condition. We are now covering the cost of a plumber for an issue that was not addressed prior to us closing escrow

Tyler Wood showed us properties in Big Bear Lake last Sunday. I can't say enough good things about him. He's knowledgable, easy-going and really understood what we needed. He knew the ins and outs of every street we drove by, giving us a really in-depth perspective on the market. He was also very accommodating-- we never felt rushed, he arranged for private showings of homes not even on the market yet, and he offered to take us back to any properties we wanted to see more than once. This is how real estate should be.

We've used Mike twice now, once to purchase a mountain home and then to sell one. He was indispensible in helping us to obtain my dream mountain home that I thought was unattainable. There is no question that we would use him again should the need arise. It was always a pleasure to deal with Mike. Not only is he a genuinely nice person, but his knowledge of the real estate market is exceptional.
He understood what the market was doing and going to do and gave us great advice. He always represented our best interests, but was never pushy. He was always respectful, professional, and patient. His communications with us were above outstanding. He responded to all calls, emails and text almost immediately. On more than one occasion he went above and beyond in helping us with the property we were trying to sell. We highly recommend Mike Wochner to anyone looking to buy or sell property in the Big Bear area.

Tyler is exactly the agent you need if you are looking to buy a home in Big Bear. Not only is he exceptional in all aspects of the field/area/market, but he is not afraid to advise you when it goes against his interest, or your assumptions. Not once during the entire process did I feel pressured in any way. Tyler was invaluable (continues to be actually) as an onsite representative, consultant and advocate. I have already referred him to friends looking for a second home near the slopes; something I rarely do. Contact him, you'll see what I mean! Jonathan Cole

Thank God I found The Tim Wood group and Tyler Wood. After meeting with 2 other agents I didnt think we were going to find the quality of agent we were looking for in Big Bear, but glad we kept looking because we did, Tyler Wood! He is a delight to work with, always there for you when ever you need him. Super professional and super knowledgeable. I will definitely be back to work with Tyler again, as well as refer my friends!

In the world of real estate agents, its really hard to tell what you are getting for the significant compensation until you are in the thick of it and its too late to make a change. These guys are top notch. First of all, Tyler was perfectly willing to trek through waist deep snow in a pair of jeans to get us access to cabins we wanted to see on very short notice.
Second is the follow through, they are on top of it and proactive in getting you updates before you even think of asking for an update. They are quick in returning phone calls and have a great customer service ethic. Despite what you hear about on the nightly news, the big bear market is quite competitive right now, especially for foreclosures. You need a competitive edge AND a good reputation working for you to succeed. I'd recommend the Tim Wood group to look after my unattended grandmother and know she would be in good hands. Bravo guys for bringing back the professional work ethic and delivering while everyone else is posing in pictures with their dogs and horses waiting to get big checks they didnt earn. These guys earn their keep and you would be well served using them.
