We give every client our full attention to address their unique needs and help them succeed. Our owner is Mary Ann Chavez, a dedicated member of the Barstow community for over 50 years.
I moved to Barstow in 2005 looking for a rental for my four children and myself. They showed me properties that would fit my needs so I had options to choose from. I've been renting from Area Rentals for 9 years at two different properties. In case of an emergency, they have a number you can call after hours and they will get back with you right away to resolve your issue.
Our full service management is a comprehensive service, starting from the leasing and screening of tenants to financial record keeping and bill paying. We make renting your property simple and stress free. Area Rentals Property Management manages hundreds of apartments, fourplexes, duplexes and single-family homes throughout the High Desert.
View your financial statements, access shared documents, and set up your online payment options. The online Owner Portal streamlines communication, protects your investment, and helps you maximize the value of your properties. Make and receive payments from the mobile-friendly Online Portal. I called Area Rentals as a property owner looking to have them place tenants into my vacancies. Throughout the transaction they were professional and had great communication. They moved through the process quickly and I was very impressed on how quickly they had my units rented with great tenants. Tiffany and Marisa were excellent! Followed thru and help me thru the process and help me sort out the tenants needs.
Their pricing is competitive and well worth their service! Stay away from other property management companies in the area that just gave me the run around and wasted my time. I highly recommend Area Rentals in Barstow and I will be a returning customer!

I use this rental agency for one year. The negative issues I had were more than the positives I had with them. When I first moved in I everything was good but I started to notice things as time went on. I verbally notified the clerk that the house had lots of weeds, leaves, and the trash cans were full of trash. I then was told to just put it out on trash day.
So I agreed. They told me no one will enter your house or premises with out a notice or a short heads up. I asked about the cooling in the house and they had no idea what kind of system was in the house. I was told they would call us and inform us. The next day I noticed boot prints in our front yard that lead to the back yard where I found swamp cooler trash.
I didn't get a call until 3 days later after this happed. As fall approached I noticed the swap cooler wasn't cooling as much so the first thing I inspect was the water supply. Again someone had entered the yard from the side gate and removed the water supply for the cooler. I also put in for a work order that never was fixed. The kitchen sink for some reason had low pressure from the hot water supply.
I did fallow up twice and the second time I was told it was placed under low priority because the water was still coming out. As I prepared to vacate I payed the last months rent and notified I would be out before mid month. I cleared the front and back yard for all trash and raked the huge lot. I cleaned each room twice to insure that they would be perfect.
I scrubbed the baseboards, windows, window seals, walls, floors, doors and everything imaginable. I turned in my keys on the day I had promised and requested to be present the day of the inspection. One month later I received a call saying the inspection had been completed and they would send me the information via mail. At this point I was very upset.
When the letter came it noted the weeds were over grown, the house was "dusty", small holes where the curtains hung needed repairs and that there were oil spots in the driveway. The best part was that I was charged for indoor, outdoor cleaning and repairs that totaled 800 dollars. This is a large rant but I made this to warn people for this place and that I do not recommend them at all.

Area Rentals is managing our Property for the past 2 1/2 years, while we are Overseas. We are very happy with their services and the way problems and repairs are handled. Yes, Area Rentals are bound by Contract, to contact the Property Owner for larger repairs that arise. Area Rentals always took care of our Tenants needs in timely manner! They also have to look out for the Owners needs!
With this being said: Please, people, try to understand, that not everyone is a "Slumlord" or a Professional Landlord who makes a living from renting Properties. Sometimes, we Owners are just regular people who don't have another choice than renting out our House.
