Pristine Properties & Vacation Rentals

Booked Cottontail Lodge in Burnsville over MLK weekend. Less than a week prior to our visit, weather indicated there was going to be "blizzard like" conditions. The property manager emailed us recommending 4 wheel drive and we were responsible for any extra nights if we were snowed in. The cabin also has a fire place that we could not use. Due to concern for our safety we chose not to make the trip. We did not ask for our $2200 back but asked the agency if we could take a rain check during a weekend when they were NOT booked and Pristine vacation rentals declined.

Have rented a couple of times with Pristine and had great experiences with both properties. The properties were exactly as advertised and Pristine had timely and thorough communications before, throughout and after my stays. This is greatly appreciated. I will rent with them again and would return to past properties as well as looking forward to returning to one of their many other properties. Thank you.

We would highly recommend working with Melissa Miller from Pristine Vacation Rentals. She is responsive, has wonderful communication skills, and knowledgeable. She went above and beyond to help us resolve a problem which was not of her making in a timely and professional manner. She had no vested interest in helping us and this was truly appreciated. When we return to this area, we would book directly with her and Pristine Vacation Rentals.

BEWARE! Where to begin? I can end with the fact that 28 hours before our rental was to start on the Monday of Thanksgiving week 2020, they cancelled our reservation and didn't put us up in a new place, leaving my family of 6 scrambling for a new location with one night to spare. But let me start from the beginning and provide 3 main reasons why I'd highly recommend NEVER using this property management company.

Reason 1: Lack of communication/Unresponsive I rented a cabin managed by Pristine through VRBO about 8 months before our stay. About two months before our stay, I emailed the property manager asking a question about nearby restaurants so as to make Thanksgiving meal reservations. I never heard a response. Now, a week before our reservation was to start, I emailed the property manager (Melissa) asking about how to get into the cabin (named Englehoff Lodge).

There were no check in instructions around a hidden key or door passcode, so I wanted to make sure and touchbase with her ahead of time. No response. Now, 3 days ahead of check-in I follow up on my email to Melissa, as well as leave her a voicemail asking her to kindly respond to me regarding check in procedure. No response. Reason 2: Beyond horrible customer service So after hearing zero response to my multiple emails and voicemail, on the drive up I receive a text from Melissa' assistant saying there's been an issue with the water at the cabin and to please contact her.

I was driving so I didn't check my phone for a few hours, but as soon as I saw the text I immediately called her assistant, who didn't answer. I left 2 voicemails, and even tried to call the physical property management office, but couldn't reach anyone. About an hour later, the assistant finally called me back and told me that our reservation was cancelled due to a cosmetic renovation gone wrong, and that a plumber wasn't able to get to the cabin until after Thanksgiving.

And yes, she said it just like that, with no hint of emotion or remorse for putting my family of 6, with 3 separate parties coming from 3 different states, completely out on the street one night before our reservation was to begin on the busiest travel week of the year. Reason: Highly Unprofessional So if you aren't getting the gist yet of how truly horrible this company and its employees are, let me seal the deal with the nail in the coffin.

When I requested that Pristine Rentals provide my family with a like-kind or nicer cabin since the cabin we'd booked was uninhabitable due to a "cosmetic" renovation gone wrong and at no part due to an emergency water situation, she said there were no cabins to rent, but she could get me in a sub-part unit with fewer bedrooms and bathrooms and with a checkout on the day of Thanksgiving. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? Again, 28 hours ahead of check-in.

When I was visibly upset with the situation, Pristine told me to calm down and that it wasn't their fault and I couldn't blame them for the situation. NEVER did they offer to put me in a nicer cabin at another company at their expense due to their lack of planning. NEVER did they offer me a credit of any sort for a future booking. NEVER did they provide anything at all to make the situation a bit easier to handle.

They just tossed my reservation and 8 months of planning to the curb and left me to fend for myself. PLEASE do not trust this company. What they did to me they will do to you.

We recently rented a cabin for a large family getaway in Bakersville, NC with Melissa and Pristine Vacation Rentals. Melissa was so helpful and provided such excellent service immediately answering any of my questions. The cabin and the scenic property were absolutely beautiful. Everything exceeded our expectations. We had a wonderful time and cannot wait to come back and rent again in the area with Pristine Vacation Rentals. Thank you, Melissa!

I rented The Farm House for 3 months in the summer. This is a great place! The property has a lovely creek running through the 22+ acres that always plays a tune to put you at peace, Nick and Melissa are the most professional hard workers in the rental business. If you are going to rent in the Burnsville area and use someone else, you done messed up!

We have rented a couple of places on a couple of occasions from Pristine Vacation Rentals and have found the places to be very nice and Nick and Melissa to be very responsive and easy to deal with. I have recommended them to my brothers and they enjoyed their stays as well. Our family will continue to rent from Melissa, we just wished she had places on the lake too.

Clean, clean, clean the place stay was super nice and clean. Hot tub at Engelholf Lodge was great, thanks for add sports package to the cable, I will be back.
