We have had a horrible experience with vertical Real estate. Particularly, with Diana and the old property manager Kyle who is no longer with the company. Unfortunately, Diana still is. The only person we have gotten somewhere with, in terms of a somewhat speedy response, is the owner of the entire company (yes, we eventually had to climb up to the top of the latter as our concerns and needs weren't being met on the level they should be) however, he seems to not want to get involved and continues to push us back to Diana and now the new property mananger.
We have yet to hear back to get our service needs in our rental been handled. This has been ongoing since the day we moved in back in December. Not to mention, the day of move in, when I went to get the keys, no one was in the office and I had furnitue being delivered, two kids in the car and movers on the way with my husband and what's worst, they were expecting me.
You can imagine my stress level. The real estate agent that was hadling the first line of communication, Debbie was awful too at communication. After several weeks, we eventually had workers dispatched out here after I had to place weekly phone calls that resulted in built up tension and eventually, arguments (unprofessional and immoral on thier part) as nothing was getting handled as promised and contracted.
They dispatched out a company that had a worker walk up with a 9 inch hunting blade to my house for handyman work whom was supposedly also handling our plumbing issues that still have not been addressed. This person proceeded to advance towards me inappropriately after our appointment via text messages in an interested manner. Apparently, this worker mentioned above has a history of this type of behavior which was disclosed by Diana.
She also stated that she would move out at this rate too yet later denied she ever said it. The worker also disclosed he as well did not care for vertical real estate and that he and Kyle had almost come to physical blows one day over a disagreement. Then, when requesting a different company and evening hours or weekends for when my husband would be home for safety purposes after this experience, they refused to accommodate this simple request and made it difficult for me to get something set up with the new handyman while expecting me to take pictures of the issues around the rental that had already been documented via picture and invoice prior.
It was put back onto me that I was being "difficult". The lawn man that finally came as well-the lawn and surrounding yard was in less than desirable condition upon move in also confirmed that he as well has had issues with vertical real estate as well. When they did dispatch out a plumber, we were accused of "clogging our toliets" on purpose-unbelievable.
After pushing further for the issues to be addresses by a different plumber, (they found two wipes in the drains-we do not flush wipes down drains)-were once again accused and told they were going to charge us. We were notified by the plumbing company that a camera needed to go down next (vertical real estate refused to handle that further and so our toliets still clog multiple times a day and our sink is backing up). Diana has been dishonest and not forth write.
She is argumenative and rude toward me and my husband. When requested to speak to new property management personnel, we have been denied that right and our concerns and issues have not been handled still to date. In addition, we have been told information about the owner that I'm sure he wouldnt appreciate and vice versa (all unfounded and unwarranted accusations).
If you are looking for a professional, peaceful, ready to move into situation between property management company, owner and yourself- I would highly think twice before renting from vertical real estate management company. My husband and I have never had such a horrible, negative and highly dysfunctional exchange between a company and ourselves. It's no wonder they just went out of business and are attempting to rebuid unsuccessfully once again.
