My family and I just stayed at 830 Ocean Cove this past week and had a terrible experience. We booked from a Saturday to Saturday & ended up having to leave early due to the black mold exposure. Each one of us was experiencing symptoms (cough, runny nose, headaches, etc). As you can tell from this picture, the black mold is in the air vents going throughout the whole Villa.
We noticed the mold early on & immediately contacted IslandGetaway via email & never got a response back. We then called customer service, spoke with Jen & she mentioned we sent it to the wrong email address & send it to her, again no response. Finally, we called again & Jen mentioned she still never received the emails after we verified the correct email address & to resend them again so she can review then give us a call back.we never got that call back.
At this point, I feel we are being ignored since we have already left, so I am writing this to warn all the others that 830 Ocean Cove is full of mold & I do NOT recommend staying here.

We always use Island Getaway for our Hilton Head vacation. This year we had to cancel 2 days before we were to arrive due to an immediate family member serious health condition, and they were very understanding. I know that they were unable to rent the unit out last minute, so I totally understand that they lost money.they did however give us a partial refund, which I was more than pleased about, as they didn't have to do that.
We will definitely continue to use them for our HHI vacations every year! Marcia, Hannah and the rest of the team are amazing and they go above and beyond. I am highly satisfied with the service we have always received.

Have used Island Getaway for many years for Hilton Head vacation rentals and have always enjoyed working with them. We arrived this year and needed a place to stay on short notice. We rented a home for 3 months from Island Getaway in Hllton Head this year. The entire team at Island Getaway was wonderful to work with from the booking of our home to the exit. Any problems that arose with the rental were addressed in a timely manner. Amanda Skager was very dependable and professional in her work.

We are VERY disappointed with Island Getaway. We have used them before and they were fine when we had no issues. We just checked in to 3107 Windsor Court and were greeted with dead bugs in the bathtub, broken closet doors, the headboard on one of the beds is not attached properly, some of the comforters and pillow coverings are dirty or stained, the front of the stove wasn't cleaned, the patio floor is filthy, the overall condition is outdated.
When we called the office the only solution Amanda offered was to have the cleaning crew and maintenance come out. We asked to have someone from the rental office come by to look at the condition of the condo but were told they are "so busy" they can't have someone come out. So now we are stuck waiting for a cleaning crew and maintenance. This is definitely not what we paid for.
In fact, when we booked 3107 the rep told us it was a very nice place. It's not! Update: 8/14/21 5:41 pm. As I wait for the cleaning crew and maintenance, rather than spending time with my family enjoying my first night of vacation, I have noticed a few other items I need to document so that Island Getaway does not try to charge us for them. I tried to call to report them but the office is now closed.
There is a hole in the wall under the kitchen counter on the side where the stools are located and one of the electrical outlets in the kitchen does not work. Update: 8/14/21 7:00 PM. The maintenance guy arrived around 5:45 PM. Very nice young man. He fixed the closet doors, got some of the TVs to work that the Island Getaway inspector previously noted, fixed the electrical outlet in the kitchen, took note of the hole in the wall, checked out the filthy patio and acknowledged it would need to be power washed, and sort of fixed a headboard on one of the beds that was very loose (it is a poor design and there was nothing more he could do).
Still no cleaning crew to address the dead bugs in the tub, the dirty oven door, the dirty/stained comforters and pillow coverings. I get the feeling this place hasn't been rented in a while and the cleaning crew probably didn't "clean" it or give it a once over prior to our arrival. Update 8/14/21 8:15 PM. No sign of the cleaning crew so I left to meet my family for dinner.
We purchased our own cleaning items and cleaned the tub when we got back. Obviously our concerns were not very important to Island Getaway. The comforters and pillow coverings are the same as those shown in the listing pictures (except for one room), and who knows how long ago those pictures were taken and how long the stains have been there. The patio looks MUCH cleaner in the promotional photos than it does in person. Update 8/15/21 9:14 am.
Our unpleasant experience continues. The master shower does not work properly. And still no word from the cleaning crew. Our relaxing vacation hasn't been very relaxing. Update 8/15/21 12:25 PM. Maintenance came out very quickly and addressed the shower issue. He was very nice. It was user error and he showed us how to operate it correctly. Anna from Island Getaway called back at 10:50 am.
She's apparently not a manager as I had requested but she was very nice. She said the cleaning crew came out late last night and no one was there. I waited around until 8:15 PM before joining my family for dinner. The cleaning crew is short staffed today but is supposed to be out to do a full cleaning, so we have been rotating among our family to have someone there for their arrival. Anna was very polite and apologized a few times.
Apparently she is going to speak with her manager tomorrow about some type of compensation for our inconvenience. Update 8/16/21 5:30 PM. A cleaning crew was supposed to come yesterday and we were told by Anna in the morning that they should be out soon. By 1:45 pm they had not arrived, so we called and told Anna to cancel. Someone did come to clean the filthy patio. Today Anna called to say they will refund us $250.00. We will no longer use Island Getaway for upcoming vacations to HHI.

The room 110 Northshore alone and location was great. The rental company and cleaners not so much. We came in to a dirty room. The cleaners finally showed up then we had to re clean when they left. They cleaned bedroom and bathroom came out had hands in dirty floor and trash and immediately unloaded clean dishes without washing hands and on to nasty counter that had not been cleaned.
Put nasty mop in kitchen sink and never sanitized it or even washed it out. We took Clorox wipes when they left and they were black with dirt when we wiped the counter. They were not even going to vacuum the food out of the floor until we asked about it. And the credit offered felt like an insult after what we had to see and then clean. Did not even get to unpack our first day there until after 8pm no time to get groceries at that time after getting settled in room had to do that our first day that should have been spent on beach. Owners need to look into rental agency and cleaners used.

I have been vacationing in Hilton Head at properties though Island Getaway for the past 20 years. I rarely write reviews but when the customer service experience is so amazing, I felt compelled. Emily Brown is on the staff of Island Getaway. Emily personally helped me with a specific issue with my most recent rental property as well as taking care of returning a personal item which was left at the property. Emily was attentive, highly interactive, and exceptionally professional! When you experience customer service such as this, it needs to be recognized! I hope the Island Getaway team realizes what a talent they have with Emily!

We used Island Getaway for a couple of years as renters and had good experiences but we bought a townhome a few years ago and hired Island Getaway as our property manager. Our experience has been terrible. We have had guests locked out of the unit due to faulty locks installed by Island Getaway. They charged us $140 to repair their own locks and then more guests were locked out at 11pm at night and nobody was available to help for almost an hour.
Imagine if these people needed medication or had children. They spent over $1000 for a rental and were stranded in the middle of the night. So what was the recourse? Charge the property owner for a lock that IG installed and owns. We were also charged for a repair visit to reset the WiFi. Only they didn't fix the problem and I as owner had to spend two hours with provider to solve the issue. For this they charge over 20% of rental income. If you own find another management company.

We've rented villas through Island Getaway several times through the years. Specifically staying in Palmetto Dunes at Barrington Court. Our check in process has always been easy. The 2 units we've stayed in have been lovely-no issues with either. And in my opinion the location of the Barrington enclave can't be beat-you're literally steps from the beach. My only complaint would be that through the years the prices have risen, but so has every other villa rental or hotel stay.

We have reserved a property on Hilton Head for the month of October 2018. I am disappointed to see some negative reviews of Island Getaway.as our experience has been wonderful thus far. We have had many questions as first time renters in HH. and EVERYONE on the phone has been very helpful. We were recently in HH and stopped by the office and Jennifer assisted us with many MORE questions.
The owner of the unit we are renting has done business with Island Getaway for many years and only reports wonderful customer service. We look forward to our stay in October.

We have visited the island 8-10 times prior always using this company. In the past we had an issue on a trip or two. One involved a broken stove once & another time we had no refrigerator for half of our stay. Both times the management here seemed a bit flippant in regards to our issue. However, this time takes the cake. Our building we are staying in decided to clean the exterior all week during the busy season.
We even had a couple workers join us for the last couple of days on our balcony. Add in the harsh smell of ammonia & bleach along with the constant drone of gas powered lift, gen set & power washer this stay has been miserable. So much for a peaceful vacation. After two calls and one visit to their office we will be addressing this via other means as management is too busy to discuss the situation with us. Customer service 101 & Island Getaways lacks a clue & class. We will be finding a new option for our stays in the future.

They are professional and host many nice properties. My biggest criticism is the lack of minor amenities in the condo. Just simple things to keep the place clean like windex, a sponge, or how about salt and pepper. Would love at least one coffee filter. They can't tell you in advance what type of coffee maker the property has, so if you go shopping before you check in you have to buy both types. Oh, thanks for the one extra garbage bag. Bottom line, many folks have flown in and don't want to purchase excessive quantities of basic stuff.
