Gumbo Limbo Heidersberger Res

Stayed in the Honeymoon Suite back in Sept 2021. Awesome place, so close to everything, the beach, restaurants shops, etc. The place had so many amenities, loved the balconies, the pool, privacy. Good Wifi. Virginia was so pleasant to work with, always attentive to our needs. She was also a great concierges recommending all the hotspots. Highly recommend! Apologies Virginia for late review. At some point we hope to be back. Take care.

Excellent facility, beautiful location, 5 minute walk to Siesta Key Beach and 15-20 minute walk to Siesta Key village. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite which is lovely and has everything you will need. The owner is very attentive to keeping the facility in great condition. Plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas and toys for the kids. Beautiful landscaping surrounds the little pool which is a great place to hang out after day at the beach.

The outdoor grill is great for cooking burgers or steaks. TVs have YouTube so can get all your favorite channels including Netflix. The complex has excellent Wi-Fi with over 100 MBs download speed.

My wife and I just returned from a wonderful week staying in the Honeymoon Suite at Gumbo Limbo. We loved the suite. It is very nicely decorated, equipped with everything that you could possibly need, sparklingly clean, and extremely quiet and comfortable. The great Gulf views from the upstairs balcony were an added plus, along with the refreshing pool in the lush courtyard that was never crowded. Gumbo Limbo is just a half block from the best part of Siesta Key beach - so close we didn't even bother putting on shoes to get there.

It is also a short walk or drive to the village, with its shops, bars and restaurants, making this the perfect all-in place to vacation. Virginia was great to work with, very pleasant and extremely responsive. She really cared about making sure that we were happy with everything. We will definitely be returning to this gem of a property!

Great location near Siesta Key Beach. Roomy and clean with a pool and well stocked apartment rental. Our family really enjoyed our stay. Would love to come back soon.

I have stayed at a few places on my visits to Siesta Key and Gumbo Limbo is my favorite. The property is like a tropical paradise. It is right across the street from the beach and not far from the Siesta Key Village so the location is perfect. The owner is very nice person who gave us an early check in and was always available when we called to answer our question. The apartment was very clean and had all the tings we needed for our stay. I can highly recommend Gumbo Limbo and will stay here again on my next visit.

I've stayed at many Airbnb's throughout the last several years and this is the first horrible experience I've had. The main issue is the host. I highly recommend to stay away, she proved herself to be a complete liar. The host ruined our first night of vacation. The location is very residential, not a close walk to any bars or restaurants, and at least a 15-20 minute drive to get to downtown Sarasota.

The pool was dirty and cold (have pictures where you can clearly see a bunch of debris floating on top). The host also wouldn't let us stay in one suite because she had a family member staying there. He was really creepy. We were disappointed and very kindly asked to cancel our remaining reservation. The host became unresponsive and we got a notification from Airbnb that they were trying to change our reservation to keep the same dates and charge us an additional $151 for absolutely nothing.

We tried to kindly reason with her but she tried blaming it on "the owners, " which was odd because they advertise themselves as the owners. We have messages from the host stating they aren't the owner, yet she responds to reviews stating she is the owner. It's honestly a little crazy. Eventually, the host stopped talking to us and Airbnb had to step in and cancel for us, Airbnb told us that the host was trying to charge us two nights plus fees for staying one night. Luckily, Airbnb felt the host was unfair and sided with us and canceled the remaining reservation for a small fee.

The biggest issue with this place is the host and her lies. If you look through the attached photos you can find a few instances where she lies. She tries to say she isn't charging additional fees, when I have an email asking me to approve additional charges. She says she isn't the owner when she states that she is the owner in the response. She states that Airbnb sided with her and they charged me for two nights when my receipt shows airbnb cancelled after the one night and only charged for one night.

I would not recommend this location to anyone, particularly young professionals looking for a vibrant place to stay. She deserves to go out of business due to her tendency to lie.

My wife and I have stayed at Gumbo Limbo on Siesta Key several times now. The location could not be better on the key. It is close to the beach (literally one half block away) and only a short walk/bike ride to Siesta Key Village. The beaches are clean, spacious and friendly. We loved how warm the waters were during our stay. Provided by the host were chairs and umbrellas for us to use at the beach, which was unexpected and much appreciated.

The heated pool was a nice break from the ocean waters come afternoon and night. The host is pleasant, helpful and readily available when you call (we called a few times for recommendations). We will be back again for sure. Highly recommend.
