Firstly I hate leaving negative reviews; I don't find negativity helpful at all. However I felt in all good conscience that I should give an honest review of our experience with Epic. If I could give 0 stars I would. On the face of everything (Website) they look great, but when it actually comes to looking after homes at a basic caretaker level they fail EPICally.

The management of our vacation home was transferred to Epic last year from another company who had retired from the home management business. However after Epic took over the level of service for the most basic things dropped drastically. They: Missed inspections, or were not very regular with them, turning up at all hours on different days, Left lights on 24/7 for over a week and didn't make it a priority once advised to go turn them off.

Ceiling fans running 24/7 for days. Didn't keep smoke alarms in working order. Set the off the house alarm triggering a call from the alarm company. Sent cleaners in for a full clean when they weren't asked to. If all those weren't bad enough to top it all off then left our home UNLOCKED and UNALARMED. It just felt like they just didn't seem to care one bit about the property at all and left it quite neglected.

The team there just seem very inexperienced in managing vacation homes that only require a caretaker level of service, which is such a basic level of looking after a home, and refuse to learn how to. When we mentioned these issues to them they said they didn't receive instructions from the prior company as to how to manage the home, which is a poor excuse as it's really just common sense.

It really wasn't hard to treat the home as if it was their own, to just make sure everything was ok as if they were leaving their own home for a vacation. After the last straw where they left the home unsecured we complained, as any owner would, they weren't very apologetic considering how much of a huge mistake they'd made and we were quite rudely told that they thought it best we found new management as we weren't their 'core model of service.

More or less making us feel like it was our fault they had performed so badly. We were told to find new management and given a deadline to do so. Which as you can imagine is quite stressful when you live in another country in any circumstances, however we were dealing with a terminal family illness and unable to get over to Florida to meet with new management easily.

This didn't really seem to concern the owner of the business, who quite frankly seems to lack any personable tone in emails. Luckily we managed to find new management that we can trust 100% with our home and since they have taken over they have gone above and beyond. Once our new management visited the house to inspect the property they were disgusted at how neglected the exterior of the home was.

The garden was overgrown in places, unkempt, and pool netting was ripped. It was not the service we were paying for. Also AFTER all services from the had been terminated an Epic employee turned up at the home at 7:30pm on Friday night, without notification prior to this, or explanation after. This is very worrying and all I can say is that I am glad we had changed all locks. Epic do not seem interested in being 'Epic' at all.

They failed to provide a personal trustworthy service where homeowners can feel confident in their property being well looked after. I would not recommend them at all. Epic? Epic Fail is more suitable.

Do NOT do an Airbnb with this company. Horrible customer service. You wait for hours for confirmations, got cleared for gate access and we weren't even on the list 3 hours later, after paying for early check in. The pool is green and smells rough. You expect sub par options for regular use items in an Airbnb. We don't even have any soap. House thermostat is locked at 66, but with a newborn it made it extremely uncomfortable. Absolutely do not recommend & hope anyone reading this spends their money elsewhere. Or just burn it in your backyard where you're at least comfortable.

Critical: Professionalism, Value It is truly unacceptable that your driver is swerving in and out of the lane while on the phone texting and driving. Then on a busy highway going 15mph. When approached about his driving, driver gave me the middle finger and continued texting and driving.
