We scheduled a reunion with our daughter and her family at the Historic Reed House. We range in age from 90 to three. This three-level home was perfect for us. As the 90-year old in the group, I got a suite with a private bath and a sitting area where I could retreat if the noise of five young great-grandchildren got to me, a rare occurrence this weekend since they spent a lot of time in the lower level game room playing pool!

Their parents, my grandchildren and their spouses spent most of their time in the large family/living/dining and kitchen area. This open space allowed the rotating "chefs" the opportunity to still be part of the action. All, including me on a couple of occasions, enjoyed the short walk to the beach and the ability to see the wonderful view not only from the large "great" room but also from a deck which is spacious enough for a much larger number of people.

My son-in-law cooked a leg of lamb in the open pit barbecue and I visited with long-time friends who now live in Neahkanie for most of the year in this same area, socially distant of course. The beds are very comfortable as are the chairs in the great room. The linens, towels, sheets and pillowcases were clean and of excellent quality. The double dishwashers allowed us to always be able to have clean plates, glasses and silverware, also of the nicest quality.

The refrigerator was large enough to handle all the food that our four "entities" brought along. I can hardly wait to bring my son and his family (15 of us) to this wonderful vacation place.

Location Location Location! We were looking for just the right place along the Oregon coast for a quick weekend away. Our first priority was to be on the beach with a view of the Ocean and all of it's happenings. We found the perfect place in Manzanita. This 3 bedroom / 3 Bathroom home across from the beach in Manzanita is perfect. It is a convenient 5-minute walk to town!

It is really well appointed and very comfortable. The furnishings are in good condition, not worn, like so many other rentals. There are 2 bedrooms on the main floor, both with Comfortable Queen size beds. One has an en suite bathroom, while the other has the bathroom right next door. The bathrooms are great. They feel new or updated and very clean and nice. Downstairs is where the kids (I happen to be a 66 year old kid) will reside.

It has a huge family room with couches, chairs and a big TV. The downstairs bedroom has 3 sets of bunk beds, which will sleep 6 people, if you had a group large enough. I slept on one of the bunk beds and it was perfectly comfortable, even for my age. There is one very large and well-appointed bathroom, which also has a washer/dryer in it. And plenty of towels.

The kitchen is on the main floor and is open concept to the dining area and to the living room. Again, it is well appointed and has most of what you will need to make a great meal. (Could use a good cutting board) There are 2 huge decks. The front deck, facing the ocean, is where we sat most of the day, watching the kite surfers, people with their kids and dogs playing on the beach.

This deck has 6 Adirondack chairs that could fit all of us. It really is a perfect social gathering place. The side deck is almost as big and has the outside dining room table, the BBQ, and more chairs on it. There was a big, very authentic fireplace that heats the house perfectly at night, but the electric heating also does the trick if it is colder outside.

This place can be great any time of year.cozying up to winter storms or enjoying the great Pacific in the summer sun! This property is really well cared for and you can tell the owners take their job seriously. If you are looking for a great ocean front rental property, this is it! We had a great time and will definitely go back.

Great Location, with private path to the beach and views from property, you get the feeling you are not just staying at a beach. you are staying on the beach! As another reviewer recommended ".cracking the window and listening to the ocean waves all night." With a well-stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook and prepare food and the large dining table (with a view of course) family meals were a treat.

The neat thing about the whole set up is that the kitchen/ the dining room/ the porch (both back and the one of the master bedroom)/ the backyard/ the fire pit/ and even the path to the beach, gives you different ways to enjoy the ocean. I can see why my family is constantly coming back to this house! Thank you

Spend MLK weekend here with my family and cannot imagine a better location to enjoy the beach. This house has everything! Felt like we had a private beach even on the holiday weekend. With direct beach access we were able to get out early with the dogs and enjoy the crisp mornings before anyone made the trek. The house itself was perfect for our family of four and we could have added a couple more people with room to spare.

I cannot say enough about how comfortable the beds were. we found ourselves reaching out to the owners after our trip to order the same setup for our own home! Can't wait for our next trip to this wonderful location in Manzanita.

Out stay at this lovely beachfront cottage was wonderful in every way. The house is well-appointed, comfortable, and cute! We cooked full meals there and found everything we needed in the kitchen, plus more. The beds were extremely comfortable. We were three adults, but twice as many people could comfortable stay there. The location of the house couldn't be better.

The huge backyard is literally on the beach, and there is a beautiful view of sea and sky. It was a bit cold to spend time outdoors, but if it had been warmer we would have used the large back deck a lot. There is plenty of room to eat outside or just hang out on the deck or the yard. The house is also a short walk from the nearby town where there are restaurants, cute shops, and grocery stores. Kim, the owner, was extremely helpful. She responded to messages quickly and provided lots of insider tips about things to do and places to go. We had a great time and I plan to return as soon as possible.

Great location for family vacation or getaway. located on the other side of the road from the beach.a short walk to downtown where Food, Pubs and Store wait your arrival. The Cottage that we stayed at had it all. made for a easy place to homeport at! The BBQ on the deck and a full modern kitchen gave us all of our meals other than those we went out for. and I will say the town Pizza parlor is good. Keeping the Grandkids entertained was a breeze with Beach walks, Beach combing, Sand Castles and forts followed by games and television in the house. Well worth what they charge for them and very prompt service if anything's not right. I highly recommend the Houses on Manzanita Beach.

We had a lovely getaway at the Oceanfront Cottage and everything about this house, tucked away at the foot of Neahkahnie Mountain, is comfortable and private - private beach access, private fire pit area, private and cozy master bathroom with en suite, private living room nook.and having the place in January made me want to stay in sweatpants and read books in front of the huge windows while the waves crashed just outside because it felt so secluded and relaxing.

Being dog friendly is also a HUGE bonus and with easy access to the beach, the cute town of Manzanita, and great local hiking spots, I highly recommend this house (and host). We had everything we needed!

My husband and I decided to spend a long weekend at the bungalow with our pup for our birthdays this year and it was a fantastic choice. The home was fully appointed, comfortable, clean, and has phenomenal views of the beach and the mountain. Beach access was less than a 100 foot walk. Perfect! The weather was a little overcast, but it was exactly the relaxing experience we were looking for, and the fireplace made it extra cozy.

We also were able to enjoy wine by the fire pit in the evening overlooking the ocean. The waves were hypnotic. While work on vacation isn't optimal, we loved working at the dining table with the incredible views and the many plug-ins available was perfect. The owner was very nice to work with, accommodating and patient, and her replies to our questions was lightening fast.

We were curious so walked past some of their other houses and they looked cute, too. The locations and views of their houses was really incredible. We love Manzanita beach and the charming town and definitely intend to stay again with another couple, or just us, as the location is perfect and both bedrooms have very comfortable queen beds. Maybe we'll indulge and come back this summer!

This house was absolutely stunning! What a perfect location for a large group of people to gather and relax for a weekend. Once you're done "oohing and aahing" over all of the wood (a mix of new and what looked like reclaimed) and testing the wide variety of vintage chairs, the house lends itself perfectly to a calm weekend with friends. Our group took advantage of all of the house features; ping pong, billiards, fire pit, 3,000 piece puzzle with soft-click technology!

One group was working on the puzzle at the massive kitchen table, while another group played Mexican Train Dominoes and others read in one of the many cozy sitting areas. yet we were all still in the same room! As if the gorgeous view of the beach weren't enough, access was as easy as crossing the street, and we were able to enjoy a walk on the beach between February rain storms.

Cooking was a breeze, as the kitchen had more supplies than I have in my own kitchen, plus there was a gas BBQ right outside the door on the deck that we cooked burgers on. I am definitely not a very creative or "design-y" person, but my absolute favorite part about the house was discovering all of the details the house had to offer. My words could never do it justice, you will just have to see for yourself! Hope I can come back another time!

WOW! What a great time we had at this home. It was immaculate, perfectly located with a beautiful view and MORE than we were hoping for! We plan to make another trip to this beautiful part of the country next year and we plan to book for a full week stay. Can't wait!

I have been staying at the beach house for 5 years now and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. Did that on my first trip to the Oregon coast and the house was dirty, not equipped with things needed to cook and not easy to get to the beach at all. I feel totally like I have arrived home when I walk in the door at the beach home Kim owns. There is everything I need to make meals to eat while looking at the gorgeous sunsets and love the fire pit!

I'm pretty picky when it comes to bedding and sleep like a baby ! Plenty of towels and if you need anything Kim is very fast to respond ! I love being able to walk to the great restaurants and even the grocery. I am so looking forward to the next visit and will ONLY one of Kim's beach homes !

I have already written a review on Trip Advisor for this home because i loved it so much when we were here a few weeks ago. I really appreciate honest reviews when i am looking online for places to stay because i am particular and have been burned before. I once booked a nice home to fly fish in Leavenworth one very hot summer but failed to notice that there was no air conditioning.

And housekeeping failed to notice the live bat stuck between the slider and screen door which did not start things off right. So when booking a vacation rental i have learned to do my homework and will pore through the reviews and photos online like a first mom looking for daycare for her firstborn. The Historic Reed House is everything it advertises and more.

My husband and i already booked it again for a week this time with family. You don't need a huge group to fully enjoy this home either. It's not so huge that you would get lost. I can't wait to go back!
