Wouldn't recommend anyone going through with this company. Very unprofessional and lazy, not sure what they do all day. Cant call back and seem to always cancel on the showing day. Stay away.

Saving the fifth star for when I actually move in. But, Heather has been great to work with. They were extremely flexible with my move in date and even came down on the rent when my lease didn't match up with the current advertised price. So far, the customer service has been great!

Bryan is the best landlord I have had. He's awesome, laidback and understanding. I live at the summit on Glenn and have never had an issue with them. I highly recommend First realty to anyone with your rental needs.

After both my brother and I have had separate terrible experiences with this company, I'm finally writing to complain. Time and time again, maintenance and neglected or even put off and I was made to wait for a repair with an actively leaking toilet while the property owners would look for a slower yet cheaper solution. Additionally, staff and maintenance will help themselves inside your apartment without warning to complete their duties.

No sense of privacy at all. Furthermore, complaints made to the main office never would be addressed. It would always feel as if I would be redirected and be told the correct person would call me back only to get no response.

We have been renting since July 2021 and have had no issues. The rental process was easy. I will say I did have to call them to find out we were approved, but other than that we have had no issues. The water heater leaked and they sent someone out asap and it was fixed the same day. We plan on staying with 1st realty!

I have lived here for two years now in the 1 bed/1 bath apartment at the Castle Apartments. This place is awful. If I could give it no stars I would. I am living in terrible conditions, mold, mildew, leaks, and high utility costs because the property manager, Richard, refuses to fix anything. For electric, I pay ~200$ a month to keep the place 75° in the summer due to a unit that's been consistently leaking since a little after I moved in, and the fact it's a 1994 unit. (Units are supposed to be replaced every 10-15 years) It's outdated and causing mold to happily grow in my carpet and poorly insulated (if there is any) walls.

I have notified management multiple times about the mold issue however they refuse to bring anyone in to fix it, or inspect it. These are damn near intolerable living conditions. Let's not mention the fact that when it's rains heavily, water floods into my apartment from behind the stove. Just helping the mold flourish. Lack of proper water resistant materials in the bathroom has caused the wood walls they come with to be blacked and rotten with black mold.

And Richard knows about this, but refuses to fix it. They did not fix any of the holes in my walls when I moved in, they did not clean the unit, nor did they replace the piss smelling carpet in the bedroom. The awfully laid vinyl in the living room / kitchen area is now PEELING UP from all the water that has gotten underneath it, my carpet is turning a blueish/black color from the mold in it. I would not recommend living here unless it is a dire need for low rent, but even then, they have consistently raised my rent every year.

I rented from Liberty Properties for 4 years and the owner made me want to rip my hair out with his harrassment. I'm so glad to have found First Realty, they are so sweet and professional. I love my little downtown apartment

I would not select a star but unfortunately, I was not able to post without a star selected. First Realty in Auburn, AL is not professional nor care about the quality of living for a tenant of a complex. They are only after money and not taking care of the conditions of complexes that people pay money for the company to maintain. Complexes are run down due to their management and the tenants suffer due to their lack of care managing a complex.

Avoid the company to manage the property. Avoid the company helping with building conditions because they will throw the responsibility back on the tenant or owner and pocket the money paid to maintain the dwelling.

Kathy is an outstanding manager. She was quick to address my issue, and went above and beyond about getting it solved. In my few years of renting in Auburn, I have never had a representative or realty company care so much about customer service. Thank you, Kathy!

Posting to help other others decide who to rent from. The worst renting experience. Moving in, we were greeted with the door being open, dirty carpets, and the kitchen having standing water with moldy cabinets and it also had leaked into the bathroom. After 6 months of not having a functional kitchen or bathroom, it was finally fixed, and no rental compensation was ever offered.

I was fortunate enough to finally move, and the security deposit was barely returned. A light cleaning fee, carpet fee, and painting fee were all taken out of the deposit. I'm just curious if this was also taken out of the previous tenant's deposit when I moved in. Definitely better places to rent from in Auburn, so choose wisely.

So this is what happpend to us when we moved in with First Realty. Before we moved in, we thoroughly inspect the unit, and asked First Realty, changes which needs to be done before we move in. As once one settled in, its hard to do the cleanup and changes. As a part of the changes, we have asked for the Oven maintainence, Bathroom repair and carpetr change. Now, here what happened next. 1.

In Auburn, lease end date is 31st of July and the move in date is 13th of Aug, where no one is reponsoble or will ever manage your accomodation for 13 days. 2. You have to pay the rent before you move in, and the next month due from 1st of Sep, which means, all of us are paying for 13 days for actually nothing. 3. We moved in, and its been almost a week, still the stove and the bathroom is not fixed.

We are following up every day, sometime the manager does not pick up the phone, sometime the person just transfer the call knowing its not going to go anywhere. When we met them in person, the excuse was, there are lots of unit they have to manage. 4. Last but not the lease, for the oven, someone came and verified already, and after that, its been 5 days nothing happend, when we follow up (of course in person, and phone will do no good to you), they said that person is sick now, and someone new will come to do the same thing again and then it will take time to have things fixed. So, here we are, 13 days we have stayed in different friends place, Airbnb, spending money to buy food and to stay. Now its almost a month, we do have a place now to stay, but no option to cook and still spending money to eat outside and have no options.

I moved to the Auburn area in January and signed a 7 month lease to the end of July. In April I contacted them to discuss renewing with them as I had enjoyed living at the property. As it turned out, they had actually sold a new lease to my apartment already and had not contacted me about a renewal. When I asked why I wasn't consulted they simply stated that "wasn't their responsibility" and offered me to move to one of their other units. However, I would be homeless for 4 weeks from the middle of July to middle of August since I would be a "new tenant". These people do not care about their tenants and are a perfect example of slum lord college rentals. They will screw you over the second they get a chance.

First Realty made me pay for my neighbors water. I moved out of state and have no way to fight the extra 500 DOLLARS I was charged last year for my neighbor's water. I lived in a DUPLEX with ONE WATER METER and I ended up UNKNOWINGLY paying my neighbor's water bill all year. Not only did First Realty say they WON'T REIMBURSE ME and IT'S MY FAULT, now they DON'T EVEN REPLY to my emails. Don't trust this company. They will not treat you right. They will take advantage of you.

If there was a way to make this 0 stars, I would have. DO NOT RENT FROM FIRST REALTY. I had lived in a property for two years under a different landlord who had passed away, and first realty took over midway. From the get-go they told me that my lease would stay the same as when I signed it initially. FALSE! They ended up modifying my move out date to a week earlier than the original date and changed my rent due date to earlier as well. (All without notifying me directly of these changes, and I was blindsided 2 days before "their" move out date, and constantly called every month telling me they were charging a late fee even though my rent was not due yet per my lease agreement).

When I didn't sign on for another year, they had scheduled showings at an excessive rate, were never on the time they had told me, and did not work with my schedule. THE WORST PART, they had never came when they took over to see the condition of my apartment nor did they have any information on the condition prior to my move in date. When I moved out, the apartment was in the same condition as I moved in and they STOLE ALL OF MY DEPOSIT and used it to "paint the walls". THEY SENT ME $10 of my original $900 deposit. I REPEAT DO NOT RENT A PROPERTY FROM FIRST REALTY. They will not consider you as a renter but more or less an inconvenience unless they're STEALING YOUR MONEY!

This company doesn't even deserve one star. The realtor ANN CAUSEY verbally attacked my mother in front of burton place employees. As property manager Ann Causey in in charge of exterior maintenance and failed to fix a violation of an egress code. Her disgusting treatment of home owners and unprofessional is staggering. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Totally disappointed! Before you rent from these people be prepared for less than respectful employees, no customer service, never getting a return call and to NOT get your deposit back. Be prepare to clean your own unit out before you move in and be charged for a cleaning after you move out. They are masters of manipulating their contract. Be prepared to call your manager several times to have repairs completed.be prepared to not get some repairs done at all.

Be prepared to be a number to not be respected. I would NEVER rent from these people again! Before you rent from these folks go see their competition. Unless of course you like being taken advantage of, poor service, and being treated like your business is not of worthy of their time.

Warning to new tenants - When you move in and are completing your move-in report make sure you note EVERYTHING, regardless how insignificant you may think it is. We moved into Terra Nova (the original apartments, not the remodeled ones). Walls are dirty, kitchen cabinets are gross, old tape on the wall, stove drip pans were rusted and black, ceiling tiles had yellow water stains, etc.

It was hard to pinpoint which items to note on the move-in report as everything was old and worn. 12 months later we moved out and received a charge for dirty drip pans (they were unclean-able, believe me I tried). We explained they were like that when we moved in but didn't note it because they were in the same bad shape as the entire kitchen.

Apparently that wasn't good enough. Perhaps some of the money they charge tenants at move-out should be used to replace the worn items instead of pocketing it. Oh yeah, forgot to mention dealt with roaches the entire time. On a positive note - we did complain to management about several things (roaches, broken air, leaking water heater) and they do send over maintenance to take care of the problem. The maintenance crew are nice people.
