Homes are big investments. Even renting takes a deposit, first month's rent and you have to move all of your belongings. With dealing with real estate agents, insurance, moving and looking for the property itself, a lot of people can let their guard down. Real estate scams have been happening in New Mexico all the way back to the days of the Wild West.
With rentals in Clovis and Portales, we are no strangers to working with those who serve in our military to provide both home and apartment rentals. We understand that there are unique circumstances and processes that our military members go through when buying or renting a home near base. Many of our rentals and homes are located nearby the Cannon Air Force Base, 27th Special Operations Force Support Squadron and US Army National Guard office. We have worked with these bases over the years to provide the highest quality homes to those serving our country.

However, we didn't specify which household items shouldn't be bought used. So we're listing those items here so you don't end up with something in need of repair because it's broken and unusable-or worse, something that could make you sick or bring an infestation into your rental home (which could actually be bad news for your entire rental unit).

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! Thieving people in there! They stole out of my house more than $1,000 worth of property! The lady in the back office is nothing but disrespectful! She wouldn't let me talk about the situation with the stolen property. Disgustingly rude! Glad to be moving from these thieves!

Horrible apartments not professional at all every property they own is infested with mice and roaches. Kelly is very unprofessional and rude. Do not recommend renting. We rented 2 different properties trying to give the benefit of the doubt and both were disgusting. Ceiling was falling in at the apartments on fir and it took over a month to fix. They sure do want their rent though. High priced rent for low quality apartments.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE. We put in a 30 days notice to end our contract early. We paid the last two months rent in full and expected to have our security deposit back in 30 days. It has been two months since we have moved out and we have still not received our money back. Their reasoning behind us not having our money back, is because they don't want to mail two checks.?Kelly is incredibly rude, and they the worst rental company I have ever dealt with. Save yourself the trouble of renting from here.

I honestly have no idea what some of these 1-star reviews are about. I have lived in my duplex (Portales) for about 5-6 months now and by FAR they have been the most understanding and cooperative rental company I know. My roommate who has lived in the same duplex for the past 3 years has delayed numerous problems, including (but not limited to): a broken sink, broken central air conditioning unit, flushing feminine products down the toilet (and clogging it), etc. and I have called Comb's about these problems and within 24-48 hours I have someone in my home fixing it.
We have had the pest guy come and spray twice for safety purposes, we were given a new fridge when ours went out, and a new air conditioning unit within a week of calling. These people have been phenomenal! My roommate forgot to pay her rent one month, but since she had always remembered in the past, they waived her late fee. My rental check for this month (January 2020) was destroyed/lost in the USPS mail system and they told me that if the second check I sent was sent before the 5th (even if it got there later than the 5th) they would not charge me a fee because it was not my fault, but the USPS's fault.
They have been so generous in working with me and my roommate and I could not be more thankful that they are my rental company. As long as I am in Portales, I will always choose them.

DO NOT waste your time renting from these heartless people. We lived in the same rental house for almost 3 years and we always paid our rent and they refused to work with us in a difficult financial situation after taking a partial payment and then took us to court and had us evicted when we were not even a full month behind. The housing manager also refused to look at me and my 2 young kids one of which is disabled.
