She then moved onto Wall Street, where she worked as computer analyst for major financial institutions. We highly recommend working with Annie Hsu at Julia Shildkret Real Estate! Her professionalism, knowledge, poise, and thoughtfulness made our process smooth and successful. As first time home buyers relocating back to New York City, Annie was very patient in answering all our questions and worked well within our travel schedule - arranging for multiple (5-6) viewings within one day and being available for the walkthrough and closing on the same day.
Throughout the process, she was easily reached by phone, email, and text - always responding promptly. As the process developed, we knew we could always turn to Annie for good and fair recommendation for inspectors, lawyers, contractors, etc, as she has a very wide and well vetted network in Queens and Long Island. Annie is also very honest - she immediately let us know if a property was under contract, had multiple offers, etc.
She did not waste our time. Annie sent us listings as well as follow up on listings we sent her. Annie is absolutely not aggressive or pushy. She listened closely to us and followed our lead yet still conveyed her expertise / experiences based on almost two decades in the business. After we realized one neighborhood wasn't for us, we were worried we wouldn't find something in a different neighborhood we liked more but that was more competitive.
All we remember is Annie saying, "We'll find you a house." She came through - in 3 weeks we had an offer in and accepted. Overall, Annie was very responsive to us as a client, which is an invaluable quality. So, if you're looking for a home, work with Annie!

I originally wrote this review in 2010. Got an e-mail from Yelp HQ the other day saying they were taking it down because the review indicated that I did not have a relationship with this company. Huh? Shame on you, Yelp HQ! Read it again. It clearly says how we made them our agents and how much we regretted it. Oh, wow! double shame on you, Yelp HQ!
Look at the other reviews! 3 of the 5-star reviews should totally be taken down! 2 of them clearly state that the reviewer didn't hire Shildkret! And one review has nothing to do with real estate. It's someone saying how Shildkret hires their company to do roofing jobs. WTH! Fellow Yelpers, you can see for yourself how the 5-star reviews are all questionable and how this company has mostly 1-star reviews.
They are really nasty and as crooked as the day is long. We found a house in which we were interested. We spoke to the listing agents (Debra Murray and Irene ). We told them we would have the agent we'd been working with contact them in order to continue the process. They begged us to let them represent us (so they wouldn't have to split the commission).
They told us that if we did so, they would 1. Do everything they could to satisfy our needs. 2. Give us use of the company truck for our move. Neither one of these things happened despite us making them our new agents. The sellers concealed from us a number of things that were broken (the house was so packed, even the inspector didn't see these things) and the agents were only too happy to assist in rushing us through to help ensure that we did not examine too thoroughly.
They never conveyed our wishes to the sellers. Things that would have helped us a great deal and would not have caused the sellers any problem or cost them anything. But not having it done cost us money and a great deal of time. And they didn't even provide the truck for our move! I contacted Julia afterwards and asked to be reimbursed for our costs.
She wrote me back a very obnoxious letter in which she stated: That loan of the truck was a courtesy, not a right. That the agents spent far more time with us than with other buyers. That we were the beneficiaries of money expended by her firm. Following are excerpts from my response As to how much time the agents spent with us vs. other buyers, I couldn't say.
I would have to guess though that this too is inaccurate as we bought the only property they showed us. I would imagine that you have buyers who may look at a dozen properties before buying, don't you? But of course that is not relevant. The assertion that they "bent over backwards to satisfy us" is ridiculous. It was abundantly clear that they were taking the sellers' side all the way.
Regarding your claims of financial concessions by your firm that benefitted us: allow me to address the 3 you mentioned 1. Getting the sellers to leave us a stove. I've never even heard of this one before. There was never any issue regarding a stove. So, I don't know what you are talking about. Are you perhaps referring to the issue of the refrigerator?
There were 2 refrigerators. We were initially lead to believe that both would stay. Not only did we not get 2, we didn't even get the better one of the 2. 2. The built-in cabinets in the 2nd bedroom. We do not believe for a minute the agents paid the sellers for them. Even Irene looked shocked when Debbie made this claim to us. The cabinets were in the contract. So, we were getting them.
Neither we nor anyone else had to pay extra for them. 3. The sidewalk. Yes, your firm had this done. That's great. But please don't insult our intelligence by implying that it was some act of largess. It was a sticking point between us and the seller. And so, to speed up the process of getting a commission of tens of thousands of dollars, you invested a few hundred. That's just good business on your part. Julia, this was a horrible transaction from start to finish.
The sellers' took advantage of us in every way (taking things that they weren't supposed to, trying to sell us things that were clearly included in the contract) and your agents tried to assist them in every way. The day we got the keys, we did a quick walk through and then Irene tried to get us to sign a document stating that everything was in fine shape and that the escrow money should be released. That is both totally unreasonable and totally biased! That is not good (or even fair) representation of our interests.

Wow, zero star for a horribleeeee experience trying to rent an apt with this company. These guys not only wasted my time but my money also. The agent, Natalia although soft spoken does not seem to have ANY real estate knowledge and comes off as someone very green in the industry. I ran around trying to gather all the paperworks needed. Despite having way above required income and a 745 credit score, as per her text/ words, my application was rejected.
She barely tried to keep me posted about what was going on with the application. And after a week of waiting, I had to contact her only to find out my application was rejected. I also do not buy their story of the apartment getting rented to only one person for a large 2 bed house! Something is really off and fishy about this company. Save your time, money and run the other way.

Weird operation these guys run. Called twice to speak to someone about selling my coop. Both times i was told someone will call and nobody called back. They either disorganized, don't care, or busy and dont want any additional business. Either way does not bode well. I would suggest going with a different real estate.

We just closed on our home that was listed and sold by Julia and her team of agents. We were the sellers. I researched pricing for the homes in the area prior to meeting with any agents. I interviewed quite a few including Julia prior to choosing Julia. I was in the home while it was on the market, while my brother lived out of state. I met with the agents first and chose the agent i wanted to work with, and my brother agreed after speaking with Julia that she and her firm Julia Schildkret Real Estate was the agency we felt would help us attain our goal which was a reasonably quick sale at a fair price.
She was patient and did not keep calling me after we met. That counted for a lot with both of us. 1. We chose Julia because she was honest about pricing. She chose the correct bucket or price range to draw the highest number of interested buyers possible 2. She had people to help get the house ready for sale and our open house. 3. She had a wonderful agent Annie Hsu, run our Open House.
Our Open House produced 5 offers, 1 who was our buyer at a price in excess of our listing price. 4. Her team of agents were impressive and easy to work with. Since our offer came within two days of our open house. I only got to work with Annie after that. Annie made the point from offer to close painless. She regularly communicated with me I'll end by saying Julia Schildkret made selling our home far easier than i ever expected it to be. I would absolutely choose Julia as the person to market and sell your home.

Alexandra Babekov represented us in the sale of our home in Jamaica Estates. Julia Shildket's Group is well-known in the area, and Alexandra was outstanding in her attentiveness, appropriate pricing, marketing, Open House hosting, and professionalism throughout the process. If you are looking for an agent who is no-nonsense and appreciates the value of your time and money, call Alexandra now!

I worked with Lena Metelev and she is a phenomenal agent. She spent a lot of time helping us find a home and her response time in replying to questions was truly amazing. She made the whole process very smooth and she did more work than anyone else in the process. She really goes above and beyond what she needs to do. Her knowledge of the area is top rate and she can even recommend people once you get the home (i.e., painters, electricians, plumbers, etc.).
She also recommended my mortgage lender and having her work with him really made the whole process extra smooth. I recommend her with 10 stars. I've dealt with many realtors over the years and she is by far the best I've ever encountered. Definitely request her! Thanks again Lena!

This is one shady business and they will lie through their teeth just to get their $$. The agent(Annie) gave all sort of false information/hired unlicensed person to do the work, etc just to get the sale. When she got caught, she tried to pretend she had no idea the guy was unlicensed. Really.guess just happen that this guy who can do the job for so much less than the market turns out to be unlicensed(interesting). Deceitful and awful!

I worked with Annie Hsu, the Associate broker at Julia Schildkret Real Estate Group, as a buyer few months ago. Buying a house in a market where demand is so high and the supply is less is always a stressful journey, but working with a reliable and knowledgeable realtor can help make this journey smooth. What stands out to me about Annie is her professional integrity. I will use her again in a heartbeat!

My wife and I bought our first home in 2015. The listing agent, Alexandra Babekov, worked for Julia. While we didn't have a relationship with her or her agency, she was extremely helpful throughout the process. Not only was Alexandra helpful in following up every step along the way and guiding us with realistic expectations on timing, she also referred us to a wonderful mortgage banker.
The relationship allowed us to build trust with the banker and with Alexandra due to their honesty and support throughout the process. We would definitely recommend Alexandra and Robert to anyone and everyone that is in the market to buy or sell a home.

I had the pleasure of working with Alexandra Babekov to purchase my first home with my fiance, and although she was hired by the seller, we felt as if she was representing us as well. Alexandra was very helpful in walking us through all the necessary steps, and she was kind enough to recommend a great mortgage lender, Robert Yusupov, to help us with our first time home buying experience.
She was very persistent and patient in working with both parties to compromise on unexpected house repairs required prior to closing. I highly recommend Alexandra, you'll be in good hands. Thanks for making the stressful home buying process easier for us!

Julia rents a Mr. Softee truck every year to give away free ice cream for publicity for her business. Today her ice cream truck parked in front of my house with about 25 adults & children lined up. They were running & trampling all over my lawn, sitting on my front lawn with dogs, doing cartwheels and eating on my front steps, as if they were in a park. Julia never asked me for permission to park on my property.
This was outright trespassing. When I asked her to get control over her crowd, she blew me off. I had to stand outside for 40 minutes trying to control her crowd. She finally caught on and told the truck to move across the street. Unbelievably rude and disrespectful!

My company has been doing work for Julia Shildkret Real Estate Group for many years. She always has her clients needs and interests at hand. Julia has been contacting my company whenever a roof needs to be repaired before she sells a house. We are very satisfied with the way she conducts business and look forward to serving her throughout her career as a Realtor.

My husband and I purchased our first home from Julia and team in 2010. We were VERY picky and after looking for as long as we did ( I am embarrassed to say how long!) we found the perfect house! We acknowledged how specific we were and for the most part we saw an amazing assortment of houses, some Julia exclusives, and some that other brokers were offering. Lena, our broker, was honest about all sorts of details before we even got to see a listing just to open our eyes.
When it came down to making final negotiations, Julia herself was speaking on our behalf as well as the seller and I could not have imagined the process going as smoothly as it did. Of course getting a mortgage was not easy, but that is another story. We are so happy and know that when we will be ready to sell Julia is the only person we would call!
