Very nice, very clean cabana with a mini fridge, half bath, and a tv. We thoroughly enjoyed having our own bathroom and a place to cool off between the pool and the beach. It was very convenient and cut down on back and forth trips to the condo. We no longer have small children, but this is also a great idea for those with kids who need naps. Nice to have a spot for them to nap right there, and not have to take them all the way back to the condo.
Also a great place to keep pool/beach toys, beach towels, chairs, and snacks for the week. We have stayed at this resort several times, but this was the first year to rent a cabana in addition to our condo, and we will make sure to always do this for future visits. Highly, highly recommend.

Silver Beach W1704 is a great family home base on the Emerald Coast. 4.5 stars. Penthouse is exactly as pictured. Views are fantastic. Pools are clean and large and well-maintained (the east one appears to be heated). Two fenced-in lawns are great for ball games. Convenient access right on the beach, great beach service. The sun sets on the north side of the building.
Would return. You would be very happy here. Very convenient to everything. Consider the rather constant and busy traffic flow when traveling (for example, it took us 25-35 minutes to get to Baytowne Wharf shopping district). We've stayed at two other beach resorts in the area, and found this penthouse to be the most well-stocked. We loved the glass coffee cups and crystal beverage glasses in particular.
The *functioning* ice machine was awesome. The kitchen had every item we needed to make meals, including more than enough dinnerware, 3 coffee machines (one is a Keurig), casserole dishes, utensils, two 4-slot toasters, barware including multiple wine openers, toaster oven, electric can opener, etc. Furnishings are alignment with the capacity -- the dining room table seats 10 or 12, as does the living room. Spacious pantry, largest refrigerator to accomodate perishable food for 8+.
The only thing we (always) bring with us is a knife sharpener. We didn't experience any maintenance issues. Parking is clearly numbered/reserved (big bonus), adequate and spacious -- no tight competition with cement columns and enough room to back out and make turns with SUVs. Minus a half-star for missing instructions in the after-hours packet: our parking tags were for spaces 26 and 27.which are not marked.
Our penthouse came with a two-car garage in the parking structure (very nice!), so look for "W1704" way on top of the garage door instead. There is an external garage door key pad (code is not provided in instructions) and one garage door opener (which is not for the parking structure door, which was randomly closed on two of our 7 days--use your key fob for that).
Three key fobs were provided, so we coordinated (family of 8). Key fobs are needed for all doors (parking structure, lobby, beach-side entrances) *except* the entrance to the penthouse, where the physical key is required and does not open the deadbolt lock (we found out the hard way). Again, minus a bit on the rating for absent instructions. Rubber bracelets are provided; we didn't notice anyone checking for them at the entrances to the beach or pool area.
The penthouse provides generous "starter" items (minus a tiny bit on the rating for an inaccurate and much shorter list provided via phone call by Compass Resorts). 2 rolls of single-ply toilet paper, 2 facial soaps and 2 bath soaps in each bathroom. 2-ounce bottle of dish soap, scrubbie, 3 dishwasher detergent tabs and 3 trash can liners in the kitchen.
I think there may have been 1-2 rolls of paper towel as well. We missed a broom, and found the vacuum cleaner to be on its way out. We did find dirty dinner plates half-way through the stack; in the dishwasher they went. 5 bedrooms are all very clean, comfy and well-appointed. Linens are white and clean (although we found one used towel in one bathroom).
Only the master suite is on the beach side. 2 kings, 1 queen and 1 two twins are on the north side; one king and the two twins is upstairs. The kings have en-suite bathrooms. Each floor has one bathroom not in a bedroom. Kings also have balconies (I didn't check the other two rooms). The downstairs king shares a wall with the kitchen; I didn't notice any noise.
The downstairs queen has a tad too much furniture. Road noise was not disturbing unless a particularly loud car or semi drove by. Air conditioning functioned very well, with a control on each level.

Such a great location, beautiful decor and just a hard time getting our bed fixed which broke the 1st night and looks like this could have been avoided. Had to call more then 3 times for service and our bed was not fixed until our last night there. Otherwise it would be a 5 star but sleep in necessary. Silver Shells St Maarten Unit 903

3rd time in this condo. We love this condo! Super clean and nice furnishings except outside furniture. The loveseat is broke in the middle and another cushion is missing. Wanted to book again but was only showing 7 day stays available. Hopefully that will change and I'll look again closer to date. Great customer service from Compass!

This was our 2nd time staying at Silver Beach Towers. Beautiful resort with friendly staff. You are literally on the beach and the prices are reasonable. The buildings are close to several of our favorite restaurants so that is a plus! The first time we're there (2/2021) we stayed in W805. Absolutely gorgeous 2BR/2BA condo. The decor is flawless: not too beachy and beautiful artwork.
Our latest stay (10/2021) we stayed in W1103, a 3BR/3BA condo in need of serious updating. All of the kitchen appliances are outdated and the sink had multiple dents in it. The refrigerator did not have the water hose hooked up so we had no filtered water or ice! We brought our own water and ice and we did let the resort know about this issue but told them not to worry about it as we were on our last days there.
Mostly we wanted them to know for the next guests. The screen door on the master bedroom balcony door did not work. The carpet throughout the condo is stained and dark - especially in the master BR. Outdoor furniture has seen better days. All den furniture needs updated as the cushions are sagging and permanently wrinkled. There are 5 high stools for the dining table and all of them are wobbly and the fabric on the seats all have dark stains on them.
Bring your own pillows unless you like ultra flat, brick hard pillows. For our stay, the condo did its job. But for the price, it was pretty dirty and outdated. I've stayed at Holiday Inn's that were much cleaner. I'll definitely be back to SBT but not to this particular condo.

Our stay at Silver Shells St Maarten 507 was wonderful! This unit is clean, beautifully decorated, quiet, and has a perfect relaxing view of the Emerald Coast. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would possibly need, and all pots/pans and utensils were in excellent shape! Beds were super comfortable. Check-in and check-out was very easy and we were guided and kept informed of renter expectations through the Compass Resort Hospitality app.

Our stay at Silver Beach Towers West unit 602 was great. The view was awesome! There were a couple of negatives about this unit though. It accommodates 6 people, but there were only 4 usable chairs on the balcony. Also, the ceiling fans in the bedrooms had minds of their own. We couldn't get them to work consistently and there were a couple of nights where the light would just come on in the middle of the night.
I called guest services and left a message, but my call was not returned. The beach service was wonderful, but when it rains they remove the chairs and umbrellas and you won't have them for the rest of the day.

My first time using a rental company and renting a condo. We stayed at Silver Beach in Destin, Florida rental Unit 701E Do not rent this Unit. Mold/mildew all down all corners of all walls in showers in Master and Guest. Showers were disgusting. Plaster cracked at bottom of entrance to guest shower and something orange growing from crack, baseboards filthy. Cracks and missing paint on walls. Tried to clean ourselves but mold/mildew had been there to long. Went to office and complained. Was told I need to let them in to clean.
We had several computers and I pads and had no intention of doing that. One of us would have had to stay in the room and miss quality family time. I paid $7,000 for this room and it was not worth it. Do not rent this Unit. I have spoke to Compass many times about a price adjustment because I did not get what I paid for. I should not have even been asked to be inconvienced for a cleaning.
For $7,000 this should have been cleaned before I arrived. They rented me a Unit for $7,000 that they knew prior had mold/mildew and other issues. Because I would not let them in to clean (which they claim would have only taken an hour) I have pictures, that would not have been possible they will give me $600 on a $7,000 rental that had mold/mildew and so many other issues. If this is a management company they should have managed to keep it clean prior to a renter coming in.

This place was amazing! I love that it had 2 full size pools and 2 hot tubs. Beach access was very close, which was nice. Even during the pandemic, I felt safe and far enough away from others to have a good time. Make your (free!) beach reservation and get some nice shade all day. Your assigned parking spot corresponds to where your room is, so you're not searching all over for the correct elevator to use.
Our beach view was beautiful, and I love how the living room and both bedrooms all had sliding doors to a balcony. The room was very nice and modern, and the TV offered Netflix and regular tv. Definitely bring your own spices/seasonings/oils/coffee though, due to covid they can't allow any of that to stay in the room for all guests to use. View of the sunset from floor 15's balcony is attached. We will definitely stay here again, though!

Will rip you off. We picked a unit for a decent price. Paid for travel insurance. two days later they changed us to another unit a more expensive one. unfortunately we are not able to arrive on the estimated date because of the Teo storms coming in. travel insurance that they sell is a joke and won't cover for anything. After multiple calls and discussions we where offer by Chloe to move the trip Two days out (never mention an additional cost at that point) they when we call again since the current unit we have is more expensive not they want $28 dollars more, when I told them we never wanted the more expensive unit they said sorry nothing we can't do to change units (you where the ones who changed it on the first place) The second rep was ANGELICA horrible and rude, she laughs at me when I express my u happiness about having to pay the extra money. she was so rude. this will be our last time using compass resorts. And please don't waste your money on the joke travel insurance they offer./

Terrible rental company! We paid around $4500 for the week. AC unit was out, one bathroom didn't work, ice machine didn't work and the staff was not good at communicating at all when things would be fixed. The staff seemed to be at another location and the cleaning and maintenance people were completely disconnected. We didn't have AC for several days even after calling several times.
When it finally got fixed the only way we knew was because we noticed it was cooler in room. Nobody called or anything. Then for the next few days they began calling about the AC unit as if they didn't know it had been fixed. Poor management overall for the price we paid. We loved the view.

Rented summer spell 308. First off gorgeous condo! Clean.well at first glimpse. I went to sleep in a dark room so I did not see stains on the sheets till I woke up. There were large blood stains on the sheets. To the wall on the right was small speckles of blood on the wall. I was completely grossed out. No way housekeeping could notice that without changing the sheets.
Meaning it probably wasn't changed before our arrival. I called the manager and they cleaned and replaced the sheets ASAP but how utterly disgusting. I found a note dated 8/25 saying that they welcomed us and hope the condo was nice and clean(from the housekeeping) the problem is we didn't arrive till 8/30. I highly doubt this place was cleaned. I hope management will reach out or at least figure out what happened where three large stains of blood were missed in the linen I slept on.

The view from the balcony is awesome & was our favorite place. We loved seeing the sunsets, full moon on several nights & sunrises from the balcony. The first picture shows my family watching dolphins from the balcony. The weather was almost perfect the whole week, but we had one terrific storm that was so beautiful from the balcony. I loved reading on the balcony while listening to the waves.
The condo beds were comfortable, plenty of hot water for showers, kitchen was adequately supplied with cooking items, & the trash chute just outside the door was very handy. The elevator opening into our condo was unique and a great feature. The week went too fast &, as always, can't believe it is over, but we have many great photos for memories! We did "enjoy the journey"!

I agree with Heather and disappointed in Compass Resorts. Stayed in Destin Towers 41 and left some of my son's clothing in a bedroom drawer. Called immediately and was told they would check with housekeeping. After several calls I continued to get the run around at which point I was told no one could go into the unit to see if the items were still there.
I asked if maintenance could go and was told no and then the Compass Representative I was speaking to became rude and really did not care a bit about the issue. When I mentioned I would not book with Compass again, she did not seem to care and would not offer any suggestions on a way to at least check the unit. Also had problems with the unit. Sat in one of the living room chairs and it flipped over since the base of the chair was not bolted and basically fell off of it's base.
Also had light bulbs out in the unit and the dryer was awful as it took 3-5 cycles to dry towels. Maintenance did come by and take the chair away but we were not provided a replacement during our entire stay. The light bulbs were replaced but nothing was done about the dryer. Stay away from Compass. Very poor service.

I am very disappointed in Compass Resorts. I emailed them about a condo unit my family was interested in renting on Tuesday and they responded it was available with a price. I emailed back that we agreed to the price and wanted to rent the unit within the hour. When I had not heard back several hours later, I tried to call them numerous times with no answer.
The next day they called me back and said that they had rented the unit they discussed with me Wednesday morning to someone else, but could offer another unit that was $500 more expensive. If this is how they handle renting units on the front end, I wonder how their service would be if you needed them while staying in one of they units.
