Some search options not installed. Lots of clicks and go backs. Not able to search open ended from a start date to view more options. We figure some homes get left out this way.

The user experience and navigation is not as smooth. A lot of times you can't even book directly and always need to reach out to the property owner to get more information. The site needs to operate more like Airbnb or VRBO.

I have used this site to list my property for the past two years and have used it to rent other properties on the cape and islands. It is very helpful in contacting landlords or property managers directly and extremely resourceful with information on the status of the current rental market using their blogs. I have used VRBO in the past and found using this site saves me $ hundreds in fees that others charge both renters and homeowners. Will definitely continue to use it and recommend it highly for anyone who is looking to rent short term or long term on the Cape and Islands.

What a sweet cottage, Noelle and Dave have fully renovated this place and have done such a beautiful job. This area in the "grove" is quiet and peaceful. Beds are comfy, 3 different areas to hang out in the yard. Kitchen is fully equipped. I highly recommend this rental!

From the first time a single sided piece of paper was put in my rural mailbox on Martha's Vineyard to this 2021 weneedavacation has been perfect. Joan Talmudge and crew are responsive, proactive, 100% reliable and walk homeowners through every step. From helping to choose photos, attract and keep renters, finances such as The MA tax in 2020, conferences, videos I really can't think of anything they could improve upon.

I am proud to exclusively list my Chilmark Rental with them. I can't imagine ever using another company. I pay to list. My renters do Not. I love that! I've used several realtors over the years including one you have to know someone to find. I won't list all of the disasters but I'm lucky I still have a house. Let me tell you. Going through an Island Rental broker is a joke.

They want to sell you property. They wish you hadn't even bothered them with rentals. I have families that are like family. I take care of them they me. Not possible without weneedavacation.

3 South Street, Brant Rock, MA 02020 My friends and I have been renting this property for 20 years, the property is on the seawall with 4 bedrooms and all the comfort of your own home. I have never seen a rental that was keep in better condition and had all the latest upgrades and features that anyone could ask for. A Beautiful location with anything you would need within walking distant plus at your back deck the beach, ocean and a view that at sunrise and sunset will give you a feeling of peace we are all looking for.

With that said and all the above is important I think what we have enjoyed most beside seeing all our friends and families grow up in front of us is the feeling that the owner has given up from the first day we rented, we are treated like family. In Mary Russo the owner we have not only found an Oasis every summer to spend with friends and family but someone who has become a friend. We feel very lucky to have been lucky enough to have found this place, the friends we have made and look forward to many more years.

I've used this vacation rental site to advertise my Cape Cod beach house for many years and have been so impressed with their wonderful service and professional business model. Their web based services are priced fairly and they do not attempt to control the communication between owners and their guests, nor do they charge vacationers who book on their site "Service Fees" (as greedy corporate giants VRBO and HomeAway do.) I sincerely hope and pray they never sell out to the big time greedy corporate giants.

This site has been my only site for renting my home on Martha's Vineyard for decades. There's been no need for another! They are proactive to note if I have made an error, or need to update or whatever. Personal email or calls are always timely. Only the present circumstance i.e. the sale of the house, could end my relationship with them. Rent in confidence- they are wonderful!

As a property owner (renting my vacation home), I saw little to no traffic via this site. Maybe a couple inquiries but no bookings. This was my second attempt at using them, but the return on investment was zero. I made a major investment in my home last year installing central a/c throughout, so, at this stage, there were no excuses not to rent from me (the home is fully refurbished - I've never had anything less than a 5 star rating from renters).

My rates also seem in-line with others. I rented out this and last summer season (and the past 8 yrs) - just none of it came from this site. The people operating the business seem very nice and encouraging, like I'd see traffic but that just didn't happen. I wish them the best of luck.

I have been using weneedavacation.com to rent out two homes on the Cape during the spring/summer/fall months for several years. I also use HomeAway. I love weneedavacation. The owners - Joan and Jeff Talmadge - are wonderful, always available with insights or advice, and honest, forthright people. I can't stand HomeAway anymore, but still use them because I do get bookings through them.

Right now it's about 50/50 WNAV/HA. But as soon as the corner turns and the majority of my listings come from weneedavacation, I won't hesitate to drop HA. It is very important to me that I establish good communication with people wishing to rent either of my properties, so that we can both be sure it is the right place for them. That is encouraged with WNAV, and now almost impossible with HA.

We homeowners on the Cape are extremely lucky to have weneedavacation, but so are renters. The listings are exactly the same, but WNAV doesn't charge a so-called "Service Fee" to renters and doesn't put up barriers to communication between renters and owners.

The vacation listing service We Need a Vacation which serves Cape Cod, Ma. and the islands of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard has become a true salvation for both vacation home owners and vacationers alike. Now that Expedia has bought nearly all the listing services such as Home Away, VRBO, Vacation Rentals.com, created a monopoy( and imposed additional fees to renters, strong=armed owners to use their book on line, ) its. profits have magnified to the detriment of all concerned.

These sites effectively block any essential personal interaction between owners and renters until they have rental fees in hand. Read hundreds of negative reviews on every rating site. If it were not for WNAV I would no longer rent my cottage after 20 years of prior success. This family owned company charges NO fees to renters, provides valuable information, tips, news and services to owner/subscribers and renters as well, The integrity, intelligence and service of WeNeedaVacation cannot be matched and deserves to be the first and only place to find a vacation rental or list one's property.

Every time I have listed with WeNeedaVacation there has been a return on my money. But the biggest advantage is that I can interview prospective tenants to assess if they are suitable. Our open plan rental space is not right for everyone, and we want our guests to enjoy themselves. By using this site, we are able to connect with people in advance and determine their preferences. As a result, we have a very high rate of satisfied guests who want to come back year after year.

I have been using this site exclusively for our Cape Cod Vacation Rental for over 5 years and we are booked solid every summer. This is my third summer using weneedavacation.com as a way to rent out my little cottage in Bourne. I have rented all but one week so far with little trouble. The staff could not be more accommodating. and the website is chock-full of helpful tips from how to price the rental to knowing how to attract the kind of renters who will love renting my home. and discourage the kind who will not be happy there.

The only tip I would personally make if you are booking a vacation and you will have a lot of questions -- try to book a vacation rental that the "owner" is the actual the rental contact instead of a real estate professional who may handle the rental for a client through this site. Why? Well, my friends that had detailed questions about maybe a room set up (I.e.

For a baby pack and play) or for more detail on a 1st floor bedroom type question they found the realtor sponsored vacation rentals did not know all the details and there were delays in getting the information from the realtor. Where if they had the owner directly - there questions were answered fast, efficient. A majority of the listings are owner direct already.

I personally no longer enjoy staying in a hotel on vacation, I prefer renting a house or condo. I find with children you really need the kitchen. Plus you get so much more room and you get outdoor space. I have found that it is actually cheaper renting a house on a beach then staying at a hotel. The house has no daily hotel amenities charge, no parking fees, your not tipping anyone etc.

When my friends ask me don't you miss room service? I reply, at 2am when I want a snack and there is no room service NO. Plus, that's why there is local food delivery for the days you prefer not to cook or I can eat at a local restaurant of choice. Just adding my thoughts. Enjoy your vacation search!

We have listed our home for summer rentals with WeNeedaVacation for 3 years now. The staff is always ready to give us advice and to provide photography and videography services. We have had great success renting through their website, with full summer schedules and high-quality guests, many of whom have returned and returned. This is an excellent website--for both homeowners seeking rental clients and vacationers with specific expectations and budgets.

I used this site for a last minute vacation. Be warned. They do NOT check up on the listings which are done by people owning the rentals. I choose a small rental near the beach. It was near the beach. Advertised first floor was really basement. Site told me I should know that first floor means basement. I thought it meant first floor. Only windows in bedroom could be open. Dinning was on a counter facing a wall.

I ate in nice garden but table there was never cleaned. I was charged for linens although ad said they were included. I did get my money back for that. Screen door so difficult to open that it was unpleasant. I was expected to run dehumidifier and empty it since place was damp. Owner lived in home which had 3 rentals. Her response to questions regarding restaurants, etc was: "haven't you been here before?" I was sent 12 miles away to get something faxed when there was a place 1 mile from house.

Owner could not have been less helpful. Owner was Stout. Skip her rentals and use site with caution. I have rented on the cape for many years. I never had any problem until now.
